What Our Participants Are Saying
Making and sticking to a spending plan
“I know that it’s one thing to have a vision-It’s another thing to have a strategy to achieve that vision”
Paying down debt, increasing credit
“Tracking my money lets me see how it gets away from me, and that was the biggest piece for me, because I’m an impulsive shopper”
Paying down debt, increasing credit
“It’s helped me become dedicated in prioritizing what not important and what I need- The difference between needs and wants.”
I’m hopeful about my financial future now, because I now know the direction I am heading and I am seeing how I’m actually benefiting and where it’s going, building my own score and feeling good about it, so I am optimistic about it.
For me it took a lot of fear and stress out of the picture. Before really engaging with this class I really had this fear, like what if I lose my job.
It could still happen but I don’t feel like everything is going to fall apart.
I would say my lifestyle change after realizing the hard work it was going to be – I mean, when I started this program my credit score was very, very low. I’ve gained 200+ points since the program. And that makes you see things differently.
I know what questions to ask, I know how to not get taken advantage of, learned how to be financially responsible, I learned how important credit is, how important income is, and having access to whatever plans are out there.
What I have done since completing the program is, I have been really motivated to straighten out my credit and I am grateful because this class was cultural specific and it showed us the history; it made me want to fight for it.
I am a lot more cautious about spending; I learned a very good lesson on paying myself first and just overall savings. I used to not have any respect for money, because it always came in even though it had to go out. But just learning that you have to prepare for things to come.
